Meet Shannon

A note from Shannon:

I started Nourish out of my own frustration with the women’s health and wellness scene. For years, I struggled with my own PCOS diagnosis.

Time and time again I was offered little guidance on how to approach my concerns from a holistic lifestyle perspective, one that prioritized my entire health.

I was also frustrated by the number of people on the internet who claimed to have all the answers but weren’t credentialed in nutrition, and often recommended unnecessary fad diets and unsustainable approaches.

I thought, there has to be a better way. This belief propelled me to pursue my doctorate and study the relationship between nutrition and PCOS. During which time I conducted exciting research on a novel, weight-neutral approach to PCOS.

Nourish was created, inspired my own personal experiences with hormonal health, to provide an evidenced-based, intuitive, body positive approach to a hormonally balanced life.  Nourish aims to provide a safe space for all of us to connect, learn, and improve our hormonal health, together.

& I’m so happy you are here.

with love,

Dr. Shannon Herbert

More about Shannon

  • My interest in women’s health nutrition and wellness spurred from my own diagnosis with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I struggled to find ways to holistically manage PCOS and oftentimes was fed up with the weight-centric, cookie cutter recommendations I was getting from other healthcare providers.

My nutrition philosophy is strongly rooted in an inclusive, all foods fit approach to food and wellness.

I believe that eating to manage hormonal health does not need to be overly complicated or restrictive.

I believe in channeling mindfulness and intuition when it comes to food choices and overall health.

Using evidenced-based nutrition guidance, I strive to help individuals rediscover pleasure in eating and ditch the fear, guilt, and shame that clouds too many food choices.
